Divorce Support
We are blessed in our Archdiocese to have offerings throughout the year to support men and women who have experienced divorce. Whether it was many years ago, or happening right now, our trained facilitators are able to listen, walk with you, help you process, and guide you to experience the closeness of God in this experience. Check out the listings below to learn about each of the events and programs that are available. For more information about pastoral support for the divorced, please contact Gabriela Ross, Director of the Office of Marriage and Family Life, at (317) 592-4007 or [email protected]."Divorce and Beyond" Support Group
Divorce and Beyond meets for 6 sessions and covers material in the "Divorce and Beyond" book with the help of a trained facilitator, while allowing participants to share their stories and receive tools to work through their experiences. This group is helpful to people who have recently gone through (or are currently going through) a divorce and want a more sharing-based experience, and also for those who have been divorced for some time and are looking for connection and peer support.
"Being and Belonging" Retreat
Being and Belonging is a peer-led retreat on the peaceful grounds of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House in Indianapolis. This retreat will give you opportunities to hear from others who have walked this road and have found hope and healing, share in a small group setting and receive support from others who understand the complexities and difficulties of this experience, all while connecting with God through moments of prayer and reflection throughout the 3-day overnight retreat. This retreat is a great source of consolation for those who have recently experienced a divorce. It is also a place to reunite with old friends from past support groups and programs; to join together in prayer, reflection and community. For more information, visit Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House online and view their calendar of events to find this year's retreat dates and registration information.
Being and Belonging Fall Retreat - There will be a Being and Belonging weekend retreat on November 22 -24 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House (5353 East 56th Street). Check-in is at 6pm on Friday and retreat ends at 1:30pm on Sunday. This overnight retreat includes keynote presentations, small group discussion, time for prayer and reflection, all meals, and overnight accommodations in a private room with a shared bathroom (between two rooms, not a communal dorm-style bathroom). See the links below for additional details, and to register.
